This image is based on a photo (www.bigfoto.com). I liked the challenge of reproducing a character with little reference material: a single, very illuminated front picture. I modeled the character in Maya and added details to face and tuque in ZBrush. The textures - thanks to ZappLink and Photoshop - were also created in ZBrush. Rendering was done in 3Ds Max, using default Scanline with a LightTracer, a SkyLight and an Omny light. I purposely did not use Mental Ray and SSS Fast Skin material, as reference material was scarce and featured lots of lights and shadows. Also, the character was not to be animated. The background is taken from a picture of mine.
